PRP

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is obtained from patients’ own bloods and is essentially the youth ixir consisting of platelets and plasma as well as the other components of blood such as vitamins and minerals. Thrombocytes are responsible for improving and containing active molecules named as growth factors allowing natural healing of damaged tissues. PRP contains thrombocytes within the blood sample, in a concentrated form. A normal thrombocytes concentration circulating in our blood is 200,000 per microliter, while the number of thrombocytes within the PRP may be higher than 1 million per microliter. These thrombocytes are used for making the skin younger and healthier.

PRP What is PRP?

The method PRP (Platelet-Thrombocytes Rich Plasma) is the medical non-surgical aesthetics application allowing the face to freshen up and collagen tissues to be stimulated and renewed. The application generally takes less than 1 hour. It is a fast application for the skin to rejuvenate. Most patients look less saggy, well-rested and with less wrinkles, after the application. It is an alternative to liquid injections.

How is PRP Applied?

A small amount of blood is taken from the patient and centrifuged.  At the end of this process, the blood in tubes is split into its components (red cells of this blood which contains almost 200,000 thrombocytes per milliliter is spared), and a gel with a thrombocyte’s concentration of up to 1.5 million per milliliter is obtained. This material called Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is spared and injected from the subdermal layer into the application sites on the patient’s face. Thrombocytes have functions regarding blood coagulation, but at the same time they produce secretions that ensure healing of the tissue damage. With this application, collagen stimulation system is triggered and the natural growth factors to reverse the damage in the tissues or effects of aging are injected into the desired area. Every patient has a different nature, and more than one injection may be required to obtain the best result. The resulting younger look is preserved for 9-18 months.

General application sites may be smile lines, cheekbones and sites that had undergone a different application. Stimulation of collagens reflects on the skin color and brightness. Patients subjected to this application undergo the minimum recovery process. Physicians warn patients with low blood cells against application of this treatment.

What Can be Expected from the PRP Application?

The most important ones are as follows:

To Which Areas is PRP Applied?

As one of the non-surgical skin rejuvenation applications, PRP is pretty effective in removing wrinkles. PRP procedure can be applied to the forehead, cheeks, eyelids, chin and neck.  PRP is an ideal anti-aging procedure for the face. PRP application takes 15 minutes on average.
